In grade 2, when I was in Chinese school, I met this guy who was in grade 5. He was the coolest guy in the class. And the teacher made us sit beside each other, that was so weird. I still remember he said he talked to me. Only once though. It's weird because he was just so cool, well, that's what I thought at that time. And he was the brother of one of the girls I hang out with. Which made it more weird. And over the years, I saw him again in Chinese school, and he was twirling his basketball. Eh, I'm not sure if he was my first crush. There was another guy who was my mom's friend's son (complicated relationship -__-) and we were really good friends when were were young. Depends on what kind.
40. How do you like your coffee?
WHOA. This quiz took longer than I've expected. Well, I like my coffee sweet and with cream.
So, over the past few weeks I've been thinking about some things. Please answer them, because it really means a lot to me.
1) Why do we post in online journals, anyway? Do we blog here just for the sake of getting comments from others? Or is really a diary, to express our views and thoughts on things. If its the latter, then why do we hold back on a lot of things that we could type here? If we take in consideration that there are actually going to be readers of the entry, then why do we write it at all?
2) How come I do not see any religious quotes and excerpts in the Grade 12s' grad comments, except those of the Christian belief? Does that mean that others are not as open about their religion? And how come some are ashamed of their religion. I have quite a few experiences with people saying that they are not Christians, and do not believe in any religion. But when I go to their houses, I see that they are actually Buddhists or any other religions. Why? This bothers me, as I have this experience as well. I don't think I'm "ashamed" that my parents are Buddhist. I don't know how to say this, but I just feel that they are not Buddhist "enough".
3) What's the deal with sex? Why are we surrounded by things of a sexual natural? Why do we laugh at sex jokes and none other? Why do the music videos portay the female as a submissive "slave"? What's so great about sex -- is it really THAT important? I guess I don't know, since I've never.. *ahem* I'm just saying, we should think about more things in life rather than the thought of getting laid.
4) Does having two little dimples in your lower back mean that you're fat?
5) Why can't I escape into another world? Why can't I live in Soul Society -__-;; (you don't have to answer this question)
6) Is this weird? Sometimes, I feel like I want to be a boy. I want to be a boy who falls in love with another guy. Maybe I just like to watch shouen-ai, but still!
7) What's you deepest desire? Maybe there's some things we really want to do or have, but we're too embarassed/ashamed to mention it to others.
8) What's your dream? Really, what is it? Sometimes, when people say, "My dream is to become a Doctor", I feel quite doubtful by what they've said. I mean, it's true that they're really passionate about becoming a doctor, but is that really considered a dream? Someone asked me what my dream was once. I was.. just shocked. I didn't know how to reply. I don't think my dream is to become the richest person on Earth, because that's just stupid. Nor is it to become beautiful and skinny, because in the end, we'll all just decay and leave this world. My dream.. (this is not a question, btw) is.. I think, I think my dream is to be loved. Loved dearly. And to live a happy life. Yes, it sounds cheeztastic, but it's true. I want to help others and do things that are impossible.
9) This is way, wayyyyyy out of the topic. But do you think masturbating is wrong? I don't think it is. I mean, if you do it in public, of course it's disgusting. But, if you do it alone, then that's forgiveable. Don't get me wrong, I don't do it myself. I'm just saying, it's your body, do whatever that pleases you. You shouldn't let someone else have all the fun.
10) Since I was just talking about :that:... do all guys watch porn? Why? Oh wait, that's a fruitless question. Well, we are all curious, but what's the point. Geez, girls don't watch guy porn. Or, do they? Do you watch porn?
11) Do you have any big, big regrets in your life? Let downs? What I feel real guilty about, is the fact that I never try my best in anything I do. Never. That's just me. Well, I try hard when I study. But not too hard. I never have motivation. Well, not guilty. But depressed.
12) Why are we uncomfortable by silence? Why do we hum tunes when neither of us are talking? What makes us uncomfortable about it? Sometimes, I like to see my friends' reactions when I stop talking, because I'm always the one making the conversation. It surprises me, because they never have anything much to say when I stop talking. Then I'd ask them why, and they'd give me a piss weak explanation. Around the better of my friends, I never feel like making conversation. To me, I think it's a good thing. I enjoy their presence, rather than the usual things we talk about. To them, I don't know if it's good or bad.
Yes, 12 questions! 12 is my lucky number, if you haven't noticed. Thanks for reading this. I spent a long time writing it. And sorry if I offeneded anyone. Sadly, I doubt anyone would read this. Or worst, people read every single word I've typed but do not comment. Isn't it weird, don't you ever wonder if there's a gazillion people reading your journal, searching through your friends' journals to see if they can dig out any more information about you? Or, if they print a HUGE picture of you and stare at it, day and night. That'll be quite interesting.

Long questions, long answers
1) Personally, I post to let other people know what's going on in my mind in a semi-formal manner; all the details are formulated as I wish to express them. There won't be any deviations in the expression from my mind to friends/acquaintences, asides from personal interpretation from the reader. This has obvious positive aspects in itself, and it also saves me from re-telling stories/encounters/thoughts over and over again.2) I believe the Christian faith makes an effort to embolden its followers by encouraging them to stand out about their beliefs... providing a means for its followers to make a personal and religious stand (by not being afraid to advertise their faith). I haven't had the privilege of taking the world religions course in school or to have investigated the dogmas(not sure about usage of that word.. but it sounds cool :D) the other religions, but I'm not sure if the same influences are as prominent in other religions as they are in Christianity. Also, this has to do with personal interpretations of the doctrines a religion sets out upon their followers; if they choose to follow all, some, or none of them. From this, there is also the personal choice on how much time from their lives they are able/willing to dedicate towards religious practices.
3. I say it's because of the media. Controlled by a few minds (media executives, artists, directors. etc), their collective views can truly distort an audience's perception on social standards. Objectifying women as sex toys and eye candy for the male population is just one example of how the media has run rampant in modern society.
4. Not sure about that one... hahaha
6. I... hm. I guess it's abnormal, but it's not so weird.
7. To have a happy and fulfilled life exactly to my own standards. It's probably not my deepest, but it's pretty deep :P
9. There are plenty of religious perspectives which dictate that masturbation is wrong. Personally, I think it's wrong because it's creating false sexual ideals and fantasies (this isn't just limiited to sexually explicit situations, this also includes perceptions of gender roles and social behaviour) in one's mind which in reality are likely innaccurate. Of course, some will argue that exercising one's mind in sexual fantasy is actually mentally beneficial. I'm not a psychiatrist or of any other notable profession which applies to the previous sentence, so I won't agree or disagree.
10. Um, no. But for a girl that demotes sex as a priority in life, you certainly ask a lot of questions related to the topic.
11. Breaking my arm playing rugby in grade 10. Since then, my parents have never let me play rugby again. Now I look at myself in summer, all out of shape and inactive, and I regret not being able to have done daily laps in the morning while exercising my entire body in a contact sport. As well, because I've gotten involved with my school rugby team as a manager, I've become quite knowledgable concerning the sport and its nuances. Of course, I'm still learning. But some days I want to try putting my knowledge in application. Regretfully, I won't have that chance.
12. Sometimes, silence in a conversation can mean two or more people can't think of anything to say to each other. Which, socially, is not really a good thing. Silence can also be enjoying another person's company during an activity, like taking a walk together. So when one person thinks a silence has become a sign of awkwardness, they may try different methods to break the silence. This includes humming or making yourself appear busier than you are with whatever you're doing. Concerning when your friends don't have much to say? People are genetically guided from birth to be the followers or leaders of conversations. This doesn't mean everyone is extremely listeners or followers, but usually one is more apparent than the other.
Sorry, I post so much in response to your posts and end up sounding like a bigot. Anyways, I've answered as much as I felt I could. Since it's summer and all, why not spent thirty minutes to respond to someone who bothers to spend a long time and post on her LJ? So yeah, just fulfilling your wishes!

Re: Long questions, long answers
Wow, your comment sounds so professional and smart that I can't reply back without sounding like an idiot. See?Well, you could always do safer sports? Like jogging or something. Haha, seriously, I don't know how to write a good response to your comment, because it's really knowledgeable and concise. Oh, you don't sound like a bigot (I had to use shift + F7 for that word >_>), I agree with a lot of the things you've said. BTW, we should do something together over the summer. As in, us friends with you and Tina. I haven't seen her since...forever! *0*; Let's watch "Charlie.." sometime. I really appreciate your reply; it's gonna come in handy in the future :D

Man... O.o"
Because I am nice :D I shall answer most of your questions. My answers will be quick though, because I had a long day of softball and want to sleep soon.1) To be honest, sometimes I put up entries in an online journal to let people that I don't usually talk to much know about what's going on with me lately. I usually tell of a general day/week and don't usually get too deep and personal into it. I also have a diary which I sometimes carry around with me in which I write all my depressing and very very very private thoughts in. My best friend doesn't even know about half the things I write in there and I intend to keep it like that. The diary allows me to vent off anger and just let off secrets that nobody will ever be able to hear.
2) Hmm... I wouldn't really know although those people that you talk about saying that they're not "religious" and that when you go to their house, it's all Buddhist, could just mean that their parents are Buddhist and that they're not. After all, if you remember from World Religions ;) that Buddhism is more of a lifestyle. There isn't really a god in that religion. But really, I know alot of children that don't want to or like to follow the same religion as their parents. Just because your parents are a certain religion doesn't mean that the children will follow their steps.
3) Ugh, the big question about the 's' word. I don't usually like to talk too much about sex. I'd just like to say that society and the media have used sex too much as a mean to attract people to their product and stuff that it's like society's gotten use to it. Crude jokes like that seem to be funny and witty because they just are. The movies make them funny and so we think that there's nothing wrong with them anymore.
4) Uh? No?
5) Okay, I don't really know how to answer this anyways.
6) You do watch too much shonen-ai...
7) My deepest desire is probably in my diary but I'll tell you something at least. My deepest desire is to get my ex back, or to just make things right between us again because we haven't really talked since 6 months ago and that hurts.
8) My dream is to just grow up successfully and raise a familiy. I just want a happy dappy family with two kids, a wonderful husband, and a fairly stable income. As you can see, I like the normal life.
9) *skips* I think the guy who already posted answered you well enough.
10) I think that nearly everyone has been curious before about porn and sex and all that adult stuff. I think it's normal. Of course, continuing to pursue it is kind of bad, no not kind of, really bad. Porn is bad.
11) I have so many let-downs, regrets, and disappointments from life that I have too many to list and number and write it out for you. Relationships get all screwed up because of my mistakes and I really regret what I don't think I can ever change back again.
12) I don't know, you've already noticed before but I am not much of a talker. I much rather let someone else do the talking and let me listen and nod and pop into the conversation every so often. But uncomfortable silences are uncomfortable, but that just forces both sides to think of something else to talk about. Don't think too bad about them, you can't always be talking 24/7 or else you'll lose all your saliva.
Anyway, I hope this was useful to some level. I should sleep now. G'nite!

Re: Man... O.o"
Thanks for your comment! Hey, did you finish reading HBP? Emily was at my house on Saturday for a family-friends BBQ, and she was reading it for the whole night (=7 hours?) Crazy, craaaaaaazzzzzzy HP fangirl :PI'm not trying to be nosy, but why haven't you two talked since 6 months ago? Actually, skip that. Why don't you talk to him first? Like, write him a letter or something. A real one, those are nice. Maybe not a "get-back-together" kind of letter, but just ask him how he's doing, and stuff like that.
And relationships don't get screwed up because of your mistakes, I mean, it's not because of one person's problems and whatnot. Well, I don't really know how relationships go, because I don't think I've ever had a 'real' boyfriend before.
Haha, and how would you differentiate betweeen a 'comfortable' silence and an 'uncomfortable' silence? I guess it all depends on the person you're talking to.
Thanks again :)

2) Either the grades 12s are dumb or they don’t know any good religious quotes. I don’t know… I personally hate quote other people.. even though it looks so good on reports and presentations, if its my own writing its what I think. Not what others say, so I put in my own quotes, what’s so special about their quotes hmm? Just because its religious doesn’t mean its always right or the best. Im not ashamed of having a religion, just that I don’t know if I really am Buddhist, I only go to the temple once a year almost… does that make me Buddhist or a really bad follower ?? I don’t know why but I usually dislike people who are overly religious and would fight in the name of whoever they believe. To me, they have no life, they are doing something for someone that isn’t material, and how can they prove that it exists? We spend so much money on religious items and for religious ceremonies… can’t we put that money into something else, like saving people? Or buying food and shelter for those in need? Why do we pay so much to make the “gods” happy? Wouldn’t it be smarter to spend money elsewhere for people who do exist and NEED the money? What gives? Religion is practically there for those who are weak and need to depend on someone that doesn’t even exist!!.. ok I’m totally off topic again but yeah, if I offended anyone I’m NOT sorry, its just an opinion, you don’t have to read it =P
3) I don’t know what the deal is with sex… it pleases people and makes them happy? Either that or it’s the exact opposite lol. Instant gratification is always easy for humans and they would prefer that more then other items that would take time and effort to make them happy I guess, so they resort to such jokes and activities. Its like human to enjoy and want something that is pleasurable to be prolonged, so those people with no life will just think about getting laid ~~
4) …if 2 dimples on your back mean you’re fat, then does it mean you’re skinny if your spine sticks out? Or are you just sitting improperly? LoL!
5) I’m not sure if u can escape into another world; so far all I know of is...Earth? Is there such thing as hell? As long as you believe in it I guess. You can live anywhere you want, you just have to create the atmosphere?
6) Hey I want to be a boy, not to like another boy though. But to escape those Superbly annoying menstrual PAINSSSSSS… but then again.. I don’t want 2 oranges n a banana between my legs… that seems so muffin..Doesn’t it get in the way?

8) Does question seven and eight link… or was I off topic again. My dream is ..i have dream. I hate when people ask, what are you gona do when you grow up, what’s your drm etc… its so muffin, cause I have no straight answer. Sometimes I’d wish all the bad things were gone and everyone was happy, but with out bad, how is there good? Dorki! You should read the book called “brave new world” its pretty interesting, by Aldous Huxley. It seems like utopia, but its actually a dystopia.
9) Im in the same boat as you hahaa, but ya, from what I learned, all guys do.. if not.. sth mite get stuck hahha… but I dunno I wont mind if you do it n keep it private, I don’t need to know lol.
10) Yes. I BELIEVE all guys watch porn… ok.. its in their nature, at least you know there not gay hahahaha I mite be wrong but its so true.. guys watch girl porn.. but girls don’t really watch guy porn do they? No I don’t watch porn.. I don’t know… it scares me.. especially when you’re dling stuff, n then porn pops out and you’re like.. screwed overrr… that stuff hurts your eyes guy~
11) I regret stopping mandarin, Chinese, piano, art, kung fu, teaching swimming, n all those other fun activities, which not only taught me new things but made me different from others. Now I’m just like everyone else, I hate it, id rather stand out than blend in. I want to be better then everyone lol
12) Silence is good for sleep and rest and relaxation, but it seems odd when your in the heat of a conversation, then it all stops. When I have something to say I’ll say it. If not I listen to others, IE dorki, who always has something to talk about lol
